Nottingham Forest have confirmed manager Steve Cooper has been sacked.
After losing five of their past six games, Forest decided to act, telling Cooper of the decision on Tuesday.
“Everyone at Nottingham Forest would like to thank Steve for his superb contribution to our football club,” said Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
“His achievement in guiding Forest back to the Premier League will undoubtedly remain an iconic moment in the club’s history.”
Forest, 17th in the top flight, have won once in 13 Premier League games and taken eight points in that time.
They have also picked up just one point from their past six matches and are five points ahead of third-bottom Luton, who have a match in hand.
Forest play Bournemouth at the City Ground on Saturday before tough-looking fixtures at Newcastle United on 26 December and at home to Manchester United on 30 December.
