Napoli star forward Victor Osimhen has spoken about recent transfer rumours linking him with a move away from Italy to Saudi Arabia.
Speaking after scoring a brace in Napoli’s 3-1 win over Frosinone in Saturday’s season opener, the 24-year-old Nigerian said: “There are a lot of speculation which are true. But the President is the boss and negotiations are still underway and at the end of the transfer season, we will see what will happen.”
There’s been a number of high-profile moves from Europe to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks. Most recently, Neymar moved to the Saudi Pro League from PSG, joining the likes of Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante.
Osimhen was among names linked to a move to the Arab nation but he says all that matters now is that he is a Napoli player and is focused on giving his all to the Italian side.
“For now, I am a Napoli player which is the most important thing and I will give my heart and soul for the team which I have always done and we will see what happens.”
Osimhen who finished as the league’s highest-goalscorer last season, helping Napoli to the title, will hope to keep up the momentum when his side take on Sassuolo next weekend.
