Newcastle have made a bid of £82m bid for Napoli playmaker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, reports Corriere Dello Sport.
Georgia international Kvaratskhelia also helped Napoli win the Serie A title last season. He scored 12 goals and delivered 13 assists in 34 appearances last term.
The former Rubin Kazan forward has four years left to run on his contract in Naples.
Eddie Howe’s side have already raided Serie A this summer to clinch the signing of Italy international midfielder Sandro Tonali, and they now look like they are set to splash out again for Kvaratskhelia as they prepare to compete in both the Premier League and Champions League next season.
