Thierry Henry has been the assistant manager of the ‘Red Devils’ on two occasions. He was first appointed to the role in August 2016 but left for a brief spell in charge of AS Monaco.

The former French international, who came through the academy at the Principality club, had a short and unsuccessful spell with the Ligue 1 side before linking up once again with Martinez.

The duo managed what has often been called a ‘Golden Generation’ of Belgian football, although, despite the accumulative talent, no silverware was ever won.

Martinez left his role as manager of Belgium after the country’s poor performance in the recent Qatar World Cup.

His departure naturally led to questions about Thierry Henry’s future with Belgium, especially since the Frenchman has expressed a desire to once again be the head coach of a team.

The CEO of the Belgian Football Federation has now answered those questions, revealing that Henry will not rejoin the Belgium backroom staff.

Bossaert also revealed that he held talks with Thierry Henry about the managerial role before ultimately opting to hire Tedesco.
