Senegal international and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is off to Abu Dhabi to join his Chelsea teammates ahead of their Club World Cup meeting with Al Hilal on Wednesday.
Mendy, who just won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal on Sunday, is not getting any time off to enjoy his triumph. He’s been named in the Blues’ squad for Wednesday’s Club World Cup semifinal encounter against Asian Champions League winners Al Hilal.
Al Hilal trashed Al Jazira 6-1 in the second round of the competition on Sunday, with Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo, who joined the club last month, opening the scoring for the victors.
