Host Cameroon staged an impressive fightback from 3-0 to 3-3 against Burkina Faso before securing a 5-3 win in the penalty shootout to clinch third place at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Burkina Faso had taken a 3-0 lead, but the Indomitable Lions fought back in the second half. Vincent Aboubakar, who was subbed on at the start of half, scored a quick fire brace late on to level the match.
No extra time meant the match went to penalties.
It was a disappointing end for Burkina Faso, who looked in total control after 49 minutes, but five-time winners Cameroon responded in superb fashion before converting all five of their spot-kicks.
Record seven-time champions Egypt will face Senegal in the final on Sunday.
