Egypt advanced to the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations courtesy of a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout over Ivory Coast.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah scored the winning penalty – after Eric Baily had missed for the Ivorians – to keep the Pharaohs right on course for a record eight Afcon title.
Baily, who had a great game in defence, missed the only spot kick in the shootout after an entertaining goalless draw.
Egypt will face Morocco for a place in the semifinals on Sunday.
