Tunisia claimed a 1-0 win against Nigeria to advance to the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon on Sunday.

Youssef Msakni scored in the 47th minute to put Tunisia ahead and the North Africans, who advanced to the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams from the group stage, held on to reach the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who had kept a 100% record through the group stage and were bidding for a fourth Afcon title, were reduced to ten men in the second half after substitute Alex Iwobi was shown a red card for a foul in the 66th minute

Tunisia will face Burkina Faso for a place in the semifinals.
