Nigeria began their quest for a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title with a 1-0 victory over Egypt at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua, Cameroon.

The Super Eagles took the lead in the 30th minute after Kelechi Iheanacho rifled a left-footed shot into the top right corner. The goal ensured maximum points for Nigeria, who now top the group and face Sudan next.
