Serbia”s squad were promised €1 million bonus by President Aleksandar Vicic if they beat Portugal and book their place in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

On Sunday, they did, securing a 2-1 victory over the Portuguese, thanks to an injury-time header from Aleksandar Mitrovic.

After beating Portugal in Lisbon, the Serbian players received their bonus, but donated the money to help sick children with their treatments, according to b92sport.

Serbia finished top of Group A with 20 points, three more than Portugal, who will have to go through two rounds of play-offs in March for a chance to be at the World Cup.
