Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said the events of the past few weeks won’t defined the years he’s spent at the club both as a player and manager.

Man United have been inconsistent this season and have been poor these past few weeks. They are winless in their last four Premier League games and were demolished 5-0 by Liverpool at Old Trafford last weekend.

Solskjaer has been under pressure this season but last week’s loss to their rivals intensified that pressure. However, while speaking with SkySports, he said “I’m not going to let a period like this define me.”

“We are in a poor run of form but my 18 years at Manchester United are not going to be defined by these few weeks,” said Solskjaer who played as a forward for the club from 1996 to 2007. “Because I’ve had ups and downs as a player and a manager and I’ve always made sure that I fight back.

“I am going to go all in for a result on Saturday. That’s the only thing we can do. We need a reaction, we need a result.”

“I believe in myself. It was rock bottom – when you lose to your rival [Liverpool] in that way. This club has been through many bad spells and I’m strong enough to know that I never give up anyway.”

Manchester United, who are seventh, will face sixth-placed Tottehman at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.
