Following the dismissal of Ronald Koeman, Barcelona have announced Sergi Barjuan as the interim coach of the club.
Barjuan – the current coach of Barca’s B team – will be interim coach until the arrival of a permanent coach is finalized.
Barjuan played as a defender for Barca between 1993 to 2002 and helped them to three La Liga titles. He made around 380 appearances for club.
In a statement, Barca say his “interim position as first team head coach shall end as soon as the club has hired full-time head coach to replace the dismissed Ronald Koeman.”
Reports say the Catalan club are in talks with Xavi Hernandez to be the new manager. Xavi manages Al-Saad in Qatar and Barca will be hoping to reach an agreement with the club and man as soon as possible.
