Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has brushed off Antonio Conte’s claim that Chelsea are yet to figure out how to properly use Romelu Lukaku.
Conte – a former Chelsea manager himself – who won the Serie A title last season with Lukaku at Inter Milan, said that Tuchel has not figured how best to use the Belgian striker.
Tuchel, ahead of Chelsea’s game with Southampton this weekend, has now responded, saying: “He [Conte] was obviously not on the telly after the Tottenham game.
“Of course, if you watch this game against Juventus isolated, he is right on that point and he’s obviously in the TV studio to analyse this one game – so he’s right, no discussion about it.
“But it’s not a general thing. If you watch the other games he’s maybe not right. I don’t feel offended.”
Lukaku rejoined Chelsea last month and hit the ground running. He scored four goals in his first four appearances, but hasn’t been able to find the back of the net for the Blues since then.
