Ahmed Musa earned his 100th cap for Nigeria on Tuesday, as the Super Eagles beat Cape Verde 2–1 in their second World Cup qualifying contest.

It’s two days on 11 years after Musa won his first cap against Madagascar in Calabar. The 28-year-old was subbed off in the 73rd minute, while the score was still 1–1.

However, an own goal from Kenny Santos in the 78th minute ensured all three points for the Super Eagles, who now top Group C with six points.

It was the Blue Sharks who drew first blood, as Tavares scored in the 19th minute. But a 29th-minute strike from Victor Osimhen restored parity.

Nigeria remains the only side in Group C not to have drawn or lost a match so far.
