Nigeria international Joe Aribo grabbed his first goal of the 2021/2022 season as Rangers defeated Ross County in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

Aribo put Rangers ahead with a superb strike in the 15th minute and, despite Ross County’s best efforts to draw level, Steven Gerrard’s men stayed in control to secure a 4–2 victory at Victoria Park.

Speaking after the match, Aribo said the team wanted to do more but he’s delighted with their performance nonetheless.

“We wanted to score more goals and keep a clean sheet,” the 25-year-old Nigerian said. “But it’s good to see the rhythm, the passes… and that is what we need going into our coming games.”

While defender Leon Balogun was in action from start to finish, Aribo was substituted for Kemar Roofe with seven minutes left to play.

Rangers are fifth in the Premiership log after six points from three matches. They host Celtic in their next match on next weekend.
