Chelsea compounded Arsenal’s misery with a 2–0 victory at the Emirates on Sunday to condemn the Gunners to their second consecutive loss in the new Premier League season.
Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Chelsea from Inter Milan this summer, marked his return with an impressive showing. The Belgian striker opened the scoring after just 15 minutes to give his side an early lead.
Reece James, who assisted Lukaku, grabbed the second to put Chelsea 2–0 up; and that was enough to pocket all three points away from home.
The Blues have now made it two wins out of two in the new league season and will try to build on that when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool next weekend.
For Arsenal, meanwhile, the pressure on Mikel Arteta is piling. He and his charges face Manchester City in the league next.
