Manchester City came from a goal down in the first half to score two quick goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez to put themselves in the advantage going into the second leg at the Etihad next week.

PSG were the better side in the first half and rightly so went ahead through captain Marquinhos’ header  in the 15th minute of the first half. A couple of other chances fell to the Parisians but could not increase the lead.

PSG were reduced to 10 men later on after Idrissa Gueye Gana was shown a straight red for a dangerous tackle on Ilkay Gündogan. Kevin De Bruyne escaped a bad tackle later on but got a yellow card.

Kevin De Bruyne was named the man of the match; “De Bruyne, as always, dictated play with his simple, crisp passing and was a hive of activity in the City midfield.” says Patrick Vieira, UEFA Technical Observer.
