Kamaru Usman knocked out Jorge Masvidal at UFC261 in front of 15,000 UFC fans, for the first time in over a year to defend his welterweight title and extend his unbeaten run to 17.
The Notorious Conor McGregor soon came for Usman accusing the Nigerian Nightmare of stealing his shots with the manner he knocked the Street Jesus out.
Except when I touch you at 170, they go out. They don’t even go out at 155 anymore for you. I finish people. You get finished. https://t.co/URd8wTHvyZ
— KAMARU USMAN (@USMAN84kg) April 26, 2021I offered you the fight and you went missing. Let’s stay humble young man. I already took your pride. Don’t make me take your whiskey too https://t.co/pHjquMBEuv
— KAMARU USMAN (@USMAN84kg) April 26, 2021Usman had earlier offered Conor a title fight which he was silent on and Usman takes his silence for a no; “Conor knows he doesn’t want those problems,” he told TMZ.
“I’ve offered him a title fight … I’ve given Conor the shot. Conor, you have the shot if you want it. Conor doesn’t want it, you know? At the end of the day, he won’t say my name, as well. He was silent.”
Never in all my time in this business, which is long before all of these fucking bums, have I ever seen a signed fight get rescheduled with no reason given whatsoever. So said fighter can recover from “undisclosed injuries”. Excuse me what? The fight is signed/sealed/tix sold.
— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 26, 2021McGregor made reference to the Usman Burns fight which was called off twice before happening at UFC258. It was first at UFC251 after Burns tested positive to coronavirus and second at UFC253 for an undisclosed reason ESPN said was for Usman “to get more time.
Usman has beaten some of the best men in the welterweight category, Leon Edwards, Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns and recently Jorge Masvidal and a fight against the Notorious could happen soon if Dana White capitalise on their online spat.
Usman is 19-1 in MMA, while McGregor is 22-5 and should a fight between the two happen anytime soon, it’s going to be a fight the UFC fans would love.
