Hakim Ziyech’s second half strike was enough to send Chelsea through to the FA Cup final and end Pep Guardiola and Manchester City’s quadruple dreams.

Chelsea and City came into the tie on the back of Champions League semifinal progress. City made eight changes to their team while Chelsea made three changes with Tuchel keeping faith in Kepa Arrizabalaga between the sticks.

Ziyech scored a first half goal that was ruled out for offside before putting Chelsea ahead in the 55th minute from a Timo Werner pass who was recalled to the team.

City lost Kevin De Bruyne to injury early in the second half and was replaced by youngster Phil Foden. Two bright chances fell to Ziyech and Werner after Chelsea went ahead but they were unable to convert.

Manchester City were on course for a quadruple as they lead the league with good marching, I’m the final of the Carabao Cup, Champions League semi final but have now been eliminated in the FA Cup.

Guardiola before the match downplayed their quadruple chances while Tuchel said they will hunt down City next season.
