The AFCON qualifiers match between Sierra Leone and Benin Republic has been marred by a Covid-19 test result row after five of their players were alleged to have tested positive to coronavirus.

Benin Football Federation has labelled the incident a shame to African football and decided against playing the match but later agreed to play by 7pm without the positive players.

“A shame for African football what is currently happening,” FBF said in a statement on social media.

“We hope @CAF_Online will take its responsibilities and take strong measures at the end of the discussions. We will keep you informed, very quickly whether or not we are playing this match.”
