The game week 17 of the Nigerian Professional Football League witnessed goals across different venues as Kwara United present their title credentials with a 5-0 demolition of relegation battler Adamawa United.
Kwara United’s Steven Jude scored a hattrick, the last coming late on in the game. Strike partner Michael Ohanu also got a brace to help the Ilorin based club climb back to the top of the table.
Kano Pillars got a vital away win, a 2-1 victory over Wikki Tourist to keep up their place close to the top of the NPFL table. Akwa United also won away at MFM FC to further confine them to the relegation zone. Heartland and Warri Wolves shared the points with a goal apiece.
Abia Warriors crush Katsina United 3-1. Super Eagles new invitee Adeleke Adekunle was in action in his side’s victory. Lobi Stars whitewash Rivers United 4-1 to complete the weekend’s game.
Kwara United and Kano Pillars are tied at the top of the table with 30 points after 17 games each. Adamawa United sit bottom of the table with 11 points.
