Brazilian attacker and former Chelsea player Oscar has expressed his admiration for  Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount while also reiterating his desire to return to London to finish his career at Chelsea.

Oscar joined Chelsea from Internacional as a youngster in the summer window of 2012 and left after four and half years in January  2017 to China and he is keen to return to Stamford Bridge to finish his career.

“I think about finishing at Chelsea because I had good times before at Chelsea,” Oscar told talkSPORT. “Chelsea helped me a lot to improve and to do what I always dreamed [of], which was to play in the Champions League and they helped me to play in the World Cup and to win the Premier League.

“I have a lot of friends at Chelsea. If I have a chance to finish my career at Chelsea, it’s a dream for me.”

Chelsea recently have been investing in young players and has a club policy of not offering lengthy contracts to players who are already 30 years and at 29 Oscar knows it’d be difficult to return to Chelsea.

“Of course, Chelsea don’t like to buy too many older players, which is normal because it’s a top team from Europe, but I will try my best to be fit to finish there.” he said.

Oscar remains a Blue despite not being a player of the club anymore and is open about being a fan as he constantly interact with the club on social media. He watches games and one player who has caught his eye is Mason Mount who the Brazilian says he sees a little of himself in him.

“I like him,” Oscar said. “Sometimes he doesn’t play like me but sometimes, I watch him and I can see a little bit of me there because I also came into Chelsea when I was so young and played good football.

“I really like him. He has everything you need to improve. He scores goals, he does some important things and he knows how to defend and attack. I really like him.”

Mason Mount broke into Chelsea first team under former player and manager, Frank Lampard who Oscar played with for two years at the Bridge. Mount and Oscar share a few similarities as both can play anywhere across the front line and are hardworking players.

Mason Mount celebrates scoring against Liverpool.

He has been one of the important members of the squad since his Premier League debut and continues to impress under Thomas Tuchel, netting a stunning winner against Liverpool on Thursday. He had the honour of being Chelsea’s captain for the FA Cup match against Luton Town which incidentally was Lampard’s last game in charge.
