Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has quashed the rumours moving around in the media that he could walk away from his role as Liverpool’s head coach due to recent run of results.

Liverpool lost at home for the first time in three years when they lost 1-0 to Burnley and are on a run of three straight defeats in the league, they are out of the league cup and FA Cup and Klopp admitted their title defence is over.

Klopp also lost mother Elisabeth, 81, before the home loss to Burnley and was unable to travel home for her funeral due to travel restrictions.

“Did I get the sack or did I leave by myself? Neither. I don’t need a break. Privately, we had a tough time, that was a much longer time already and we always deal with it as a family 100%,” he said during the press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League tie against RB Leipzig.

“I am 53, I have worked in football for a long time and I can switch off. I don’t carry things around. Nobody has to worry about me.

“I am full of energy, honestly. I see it as an interesting challenge. We will sort it by playing football, we will sort it by fighting with all we have. That’s the plan.”

Liverpool lost 3-1 to Leicester in the league on Saturday, are 13 points behind leaders Man City who have a game in hand and could drop outside of the top four if Chelsea win tonight.

“At the moment, a lot of people are not happy with the results. I get that, but I am responsible for that. It’s a massive challenge. I’m ready, the boys are ready, and we will give our absolute everything to sort it.” Klopp said, embracing the challenge of turning their season around.
