Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hit out at Barcelona presidential candidates for talking too much about defender Eric Garcia.
The La Masia graduate has refused a contract extension at City and is keen on a reunion with his boyhood club but because Barcelona can’t sign in this window due to delayed presidential election, the deal is set to wait till the summer.
Candidates Toni Freixa and Victor Font have been active in the media talking about the 20year old, something Guardiola is not pleased with.
“I don’t want to talk anything about this case because the people talk much. He’s our player, the transfer window finishes in a few days. We are fully committed with him while he is here because is an exceptional player and guy and that’s all.” Guardiola said.
Guardiola confirmed last week that Garcia will leave City at the end of the season and with Barcelona in serious financial troubles, getting a quality defender for free would be a good business.
