The Baby Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire outscored the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria 3-2 in Lome, Togo to win the WAFU B tourney.
Cote D’Ivoire put three past the Eaglets before substitute Ahmed Abdullahi scored two late goals including a freekick to leave the scoreline respectable but there was no more time for the Eaglets to stage a comeback.
Both teams met in the opener of their group, Cote D’Ivoire won the match by a lone goal but the Eaglets qualified on goal difference after drawing Ghana who lost 3-1 to Cote D’Ivoire.
Burkina Faso won the third place by beating Niger Republic 11-10 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
The two teams have qualified for the U17 AFCON in Morocco between March 13-31, 2020.
