Bayern Munich and Germany captain Manuel Neuer has been named Germany’s Player of the Year for 2020 after receiving 57.8% of the votes by fans of the national team.
Neuer had a remarkable 2020 with Bayern Munich winning the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal, DFL Super Cup, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.
His Bayern teammate Serge Gnabry who won the goal of the year came second, while Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Matthias Ginter claimed third.
He made only four appearances for the national team in a coronavirus ravaged year and 96 in all for Germany which puts him 15th on all time appearance list.
