Nigerian Professional Football League clubs have received the FIFA Covid-19 relief funds from the NFF, sources have confirmed.
The total money due to each club is ₦5million but only half of it which is ₦2.5million was disbursed by the NFF.
NFF president Amaju Pinnick confirmed half of the promised funds has been received from FIFA and the remaining is expected to be received in January.
The 2019/20 season of the NPFL was first halted on March 18 due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was then cancelled on July 10 with no champion nor relegated teams and final standings were decided by points-per-game system.
Different dates have been proposed for the start of the 2020/21 season but the season is yet to start.
