Dutch national team manager and former player Frank De Boer has praised Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and called him one of the best young goalkeepers in the Dutch league for his performance against PSV.
De Boer said this during live analysis of the game. PSV won 1-0 thanks a Donyell Malen rebound from a penalty saved by Okoye but the scoreline was kept moderate thanks to strings of spectacular saves by the German born Nigerian goalkeeper.
“Sparta as a team conceded a lot of goals last season and also at the start of the season but since Okoye came in they have been very organized lately,” the former Barcelona defender said.
“It’s the set up that is better now but also Okoye has done well when called upon. PSV got their way but it wasn’t quite easy and I like Okoye who to me ranks among one of the best young goalkeepers in the league at the moment”.
Okoye has played just four league games for Sparta Rotterdam but is already attracting praises for his outstanding performances.
