After the two disappointing draws against Sierra Leone in the AFCON qualifiers last week which left many Nigerian football fans and administrators with a sour taste and growing concerns over the tactical ability of Gernot Rohr.

The honorable minister for youth and sports, Mr Sunday Dare made a controversial tweet:

“The performance of the Super Eagles from their last two matches calls to question the suitability and competences of Technical Adviser, Rohr. Nigerian football deserves better. The needful will be done. Apologies to all football lovers.”

The tweet was interpreted to mean a sack is imminent for Rohr, an opinion on social media that was quelled by experienced journalists as being impossible financially.

The Sports minister Sunday Dare and the NFF have now resolved to beef up the Super Eagles backroom staff in a bid to get the best out of the team’s Franco German manager, Gernot Rohr.

They also resolved that Rohr must pay more attention to the domestic league and use at least three to four home lads.

According to a media release made available to newstap.com.ng, the Eagles would have a psychologist, two match readers, a nutritionist and a physical trainer.
