Pep Guardiola and Wife Cristina Split After 30 Years, Reports Reveal Separation Has Lasted Nearly Five Years
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, has reportedly separated from his wife, Cristina, after 30 years of marriage. According to Spanish newspaper Sport, the couple made the decision to part ways in December, although they have been living separately for nearly five years. Cristina, who had moved back to Barcelona to focus on her fashion business, has still been traveling between Spain and London, spending time with Guardiola in the UK.
Guardiola and Cristina first met when he was 18, while working as a model in her family’s clothing store, Serra Claret. Even as recently as January 2024, Guardiola mentioned how Cristina helps him select his matchday outfits. He has often spoken highly of her fashion expertise, saying, “My wife is the best in the world at many things, but especially in fashion,” and noting that he values her advice.
Although they met as teenagers, Guardiola and Cristina waited many years before marrying in a private ceremony in Catalonia in 2014. The couple has three children: Maria, 24, who is a model with over 900,000 followers on Instagram; Marius, 22, who lives in Dubai and runs three businesses, including one focused on advertising and marketing; and Valentina, 17, who is currently focused on her studies.
Cristina has been a key support for Guardiola throughout his football career, both as a player and as a coach. He started his managerial career at Barcelona in 2008, where he won three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies.
After moving to Bayern Munich in 2013, Guardiola won three consecutive Bundesliga titles before joining Manchester City in 2016. At City, he has won six Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy in 2023, completing a historic Treble. However, this season has seen a dip in form, with City currently in sixth place, 12 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
