Nigeria coach Finidi George has said the Super Eagles can’t throw in the towel after they were beaten 2-1 by Benin in their 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Finidi and his men are yet to a win a game in the qualifying stage and have collected only three points from four games so far.

”We need to see how we can get the best out of the players,” the 53-year-old, who took over as coach in April, said in a post match presser. “Everybody must be committed, with that commitment we will win games.

”I believe we are going to win games. We can’t throw in the towel because we have only three points. We have to find a way to get the players to perform.”

The Super Eagles have yet to claim a win, managing three draws and suffering a loss.

The Fifa World Cup qualifiers will resume in March 2025, with the Super Eagles set to face Rwanda on March 17th, followed by a match against Zimbabwe on March 24th.
