‘The saviour of Udinese has one name: Maduka Okoye’
Maduka Okoye’s heroics in goal on Sunday helped Udinese to a 1-0 victory over Frosinone, keeping the Whites and Blacks in the Serie A for the 2024/25 season.
Frosinone, having lost, were relegated alongside Sassuolo and Salernitana.
The 24-year-old Nigerian produced great saves, while Keinan Davis scored in the 76th minute to give Udinese all three points on the final day.
“Always confident. His signature ensures salvation. He kept his team in the game in the first part of the match, denying Zortea the goal and being sensational on Okoli. Still good on Zortea in the second half,” Italian outlet Tuttosport reported.
TMW also commented on Okoye’s performance, saying: “His exploit is, with excellent probability, the best news of Udinese’s season, it also confirms it in the most important match of the year. Decisive saves in a series.”
