Liberian President George Weah has expressed his admiration for Victor Osimhen following the striker’s outstanding performance that led Nigeria to victory against Sierra Leone over the weekend.

Osimhen, 24 years old, showcased his talent by scoring two crucial goals in the 20th and 33rd minutes of the match, which took place at Monrovia’s Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium in Liberia.

Nigeria’s thrilling 3-2 triumph secured their qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals, set to be hosted in Ivory Coast early next year.

President Weah had the privilege of watching the match from the presidential box at the stadium and was effusive in his praise for Osimhen, who delivered an exceptional performance on the day.

“That is what I call a striker. Good positioning always,” the former AC Milan striker was quoted by the Nigeria Football Federation website.
