Neymar is in water hotter than a McDonald’s apple pie after being spotted at the fast food eatery in the aftermath of PSG’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian is understood to have attended a £9,000 poker tournament on Wednesday before being spotted grabbing a bite to eat at a nearby McDonald’s with some friends later in the evening.

Fans branded the 31-year-old’s antics unprofessional, particularly after Kylian Mbappe urged his PSG team-mates to “eat and sleep well” in the wake of Tuesday’s defeat.

“He doesn’t give a damn about football,” one fan fumed on Twitter. Another raged: “‘There are some who still manage to defend him. It’s so unprofessional. He just doesn’t care about PSG, which is outrageous given what salary he gets”.

A third commented: “When Mbappe said ‘eat well’ he wasn’t talking about McDonalds’.”

Neymar was near non-existent as PSG were beaten by Bayern in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League tie on Tuesday night.

Kingsley Coman grabbed the only goal of game, just as he did when the two sides met in the Champions League final back in 2020, with a well-taken volley at the back post.

Neymar has been linked with a move away from the Parc Des Princes for a couple of years now – most recently this week with Chelsea.

And with rumours of behind-the-scenes difficulties with the likes of Mbappe and sporting director Luis Campos, and supporter patience with him dwindling, a summer exit might well be on the cards.
