Marcus Rashford was fined and given six points after admitting to speeding.

In recent weeks, the Manchester United forward has been scoring at an alarming rate. Unfortunately, it appears that his driving was also influenced by speed.

When his Mercedes G VRM was caught exceeding the speed limit in Manchester City Centre by around 20mph in May last year, the England international was believed to be behind the wheel.

While the fine would not have even scratched the surface of his earnings, his heavy foot on the accelerator has cost him.

Rashford pleaded guilty to speeding in Manchester Magistrates Court and was fined £574. He was caught exceeding the speed limit in May of last year, but his punishment has only been suspended.

As a result of the incident, the 25-year-old received six points on his license. According to various reports, Rashford has sold the car he was caught speeding in.

While the England international paid around £670,000 for the flashy automobile, he reportedly sold it for less than half that amount.

He is not, however, out of cars to drive, having recently purchased a McLaren 765 for around £280,000 and a £390,000 Black Badge Cullinan Rolls Royce. Fortunately for Rashford, he is not being penalized on the field.

He scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season in United’s 2-2 home draw with Leeds United. Erik ten Hag’s side are currently in third place, but will drop to fourth if Newcastle United win their game in hand.

United play Leeds again in their next match before traveling to the Nou Camp to face Barcelona in the first leg of the Europa League match. If United are to turn the Catalans over in their own backyard, Rashford will need to be able to fly through the gears on the pitch.
