Hugo Lloris could miss the next eight weeks of action after picking up a knee injury during Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Manchester City on Sunday.

This injury has come as a major blow to Spurs, as they look to breathe fresh life into their flailing season.

Lloris is expected to be out of action for the next six to eight weeks, ruling him out of several important fixtures, including both legs of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie with Milan.

The injury comes at a difficult time for Spurs, as they currently sit one point outside the Premier League’s top four.

This season has not been kind to French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, as he has made a league-high four errors leading to goals, most recently gifting Arsenal the opener in January’s north London derby defeat.

As a result of this setback, he is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by summer signing Fraser Forster, who has only made one Premier League appearance for Tottenham so far this season and that came in 2-2 draw against Brentford on boxing day.

In order to find a long-term replacement for Lloris, Spurs have been looking at potential targets such as Brentford’s David Raya, Brighton’s Robert Sanchez, and Everton’s Jordan Pickford.
