Ogu replies Nigerian fans, says beautiful football doesn’t win games
Hapoel Beer Sheva midfielder John Ogu has responded to Nigerian fans and urged them to support the Super Eagles and not expect beautiful football from the team.
Nigeria defeated Liberia 2-0 on Saturday to remain at the top of Group C. The Super Eagles have lost just once in their World Cup qualifiers but fans have always bemoaned their quality of play.
Ogu insists that taking all three points is what’s important and asked fans to support the team and manager instead.
“Alot be tagging me asking for the Super Eagles to play that whole beautiful football to win games,” Ogu tweeted.
Alot be tagging me asking for the @NGSuperEagles to play that whole beautiful football to win games . Listen y’all, beautiful football don’t win games this days . Winning games is the real deal . Y’all support the team and the Manager.Big game coming on Tuesday before playoff .

“Listen you all, beautiful football doesn’t win games these days. Winning games is the real deal. You all support the team and the manager, big game coming up on Tuesday before play-off.
“Pray for the team to win against Cape Verde. No noise, we will be victorious. Wishing the team all the best on Tuesday.”
Nigeria will face Cape Verde on Tuesday, and a win or draw will send the Super Eagles through to the African World Cup play-offs.
