Leicester City’s Nigerian forward Kelechi “Senioman Kels” Iheanacho has been nominated for the March Premier League player of the month.
The resurgent forward stepped up in the absence of injured James Maddison and Harvey Barnes in style, with his first Premier League hat-trick against Sheffield United among his five goals in March.
Brendan Rodgers, who was also nominated for manager of the month guarded Leicester City to two wins and a draw in three games in March.
The other players nominated are Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen, Tottenham’s Harry Kane, West Ham’s Jesse Lingard, Man City’s Riyad Mahrez, Leeds Illan Meslier, Man Utd’s Luke Shaw and Brighton’s Leandro Trossard.
The votes from the public will be combined with those of the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be revealed next week.
