Royal Antwerp and Nigerian defender Junior Pius Udeme was arrested yesterday by the Nigerian immigration at the Murtala Muhammed International airport yesterday.
According to Babatunde Ojora, Pius was arrested for alleged diversion and conversion of funds, an offence dating back to 2018.
The 25year old Akwa-Ibom born was arrested when returning from Belgium and is currently being held at the Interpol office in Lagos.
He started his career at Porto and currently plays for Royal Antwerp. He joined the Belgian club in 2019.
