Barcelona’s poor La Liga form continued today as they were beaten by newly promoted side Cadiz in a match where poor defensive displays and missed chances cemented their faith.
It is Cadiz’s first home victory in La Liga in 14years and first over Barcelona since 1991. Cadiz had earlier beaten Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.
Cadiz went ahead after Ter Stegen saved a possible own goal into the path of a Cadiz player. Jordi Alba pulled one back for Barcelona before former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo scored the winner after Clement Lenglet failed to deal with a throw-in.
The win puts Cadiz who had somehow motivated themselves about beating Barcelona a day before the game above Barcelona on the La Liga table.
