Former Liverpool midfielder, Dietmar Hamann has blamed Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for Borussia Dortmund’s current predicament.
“I think Aubameyang plays a big part in the team,” The former German national team player, Hamann said during a talk show on Sky Sport News HD in Germany “If you are a player who makes the difference, then you’re ready for the team at least as long as you are still a player of the team”
That had not been the case in recent weeks. Instead, the Gabonese was involved in an unauthorized advertising shoot, arrived late for training and a dismissal against Schalke. “What he did yesterday was worse for me than being half an hour late,” Hamann complained. “In that situation, he simply does not accept the ticket”
The Gabonese international who has scored eleven goals already in the ongoing season has lost much of his respect around the team, the 44-year-old former Liverpool midfielder continues: “I believe that the popularity of Aubameyang within the team is much lower than before.” He has become a big problem for Borussia Dortmund and I think he is the major reason the team is not doing well”
Generally speaking, Hamann sees Borussia Dortmund facing major problems. “I do not think it’s a team, as they’ve proved time and again over the past few weeks, and they’ve lost their games against the likes of Hannover and Stuttgart.” The capitulation against Schalke was “the icing on the cake”.
Fitness could be a problem, but it can not be that they were just playing card games or bowling in preparation, something they must have trained. ” , the TV expert added.
