Mesut Ozil Reportedly Available for €20M Amid Barcelona Transfer Rumours

Barcelona have reportedly been told they would be able to sign Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil for a fee of €20 million (£18 million) in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the German midfielder is being considered as a possible alternative to Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and would be available for the cut-price sum.

Reports that emanated from Spain revealed days ago, that Barca is ready to offer Andre Gomez for Ozil who according to reports, has a little chance of signing a contract extension at the Emirates Stadium, with his current deal to expire at the end of the campaign.

Ozil, whose style would fit that of Barca is seen by many Arsenal fans as not putting in the kind of effort expected of him even though Since his Premier League debut in September 2013, Mesut Ozil has provided 45 assists, 21 more than any other Arsenal player in that time.

A move to Barcelona would not have made any sense in the past, as the Catalan giants have operated a system that doesn’t accommodate a classic No. 10. But current manager Ernesto Valverde has shown that he is a lot more versatile in the way the side is set up.
