Borussia Dortmund is looking for two successors to Aubameyang

According to German sports website SPORTBUZZER, Borussia Dortmund is actively looking for two new strikers. This comes after the Gabon striker was suspended and taken out of the squad to face VfB Stuttgart this weekend in the Bundesliga for arriving 30 minutes late for the team’s final training. This will not be the first time Aubameyang will arrive late for training, having similarly been suspended 12 months ago following an unsanctioned trip to Milan; Aubameyang subsequently sat out a Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon.

“I didn’t turn up late for training,” he Aubameyang told German newspaper Bild. “After my trip to Milan I could understand my suspension because I ignored an announcement that time.

“This time I really can’t understand it.”

According to SPORTBUZZER information, Borussia Dortmund is already actively looking for a successor to Aubameyang, whose contract actually runs until 2020! More precisely, Borussia Dortmund even wants to sign two strikers – at the latest for the new season.

aubameyangAubameyang fuelled rumours of a move away from Dortmund one and a half months ago when he spoke on French television station ‘TF1’ during the program, Téléfoot.

Asked about leaving next summer, he said: “We will see that after the season. The door will, of course, be open. ”
The current developments could make a transfer away from Borussia Dortmund for Aubameyang come earlier than envisaged.

Finding a substitute with a similar Goal return as the Aubameyang may not be easy for the former German champions as Aubameyang’s record at the club is more than impressive. In 206 competitive matches, he Aubameyang has scored 135 goals.

There were stories in the summer suggesting Aubameyang wanted to leave Dortmund, he had specific offers from China and his former club AC Milan. Paris Saint Germain has also been interested in snapping up the striker, but after a change in the position of sports director, the French club decided against and after the expiration of an agreed period, Borussia Dortmund officials put a stop to any possibility of a transfer.
