Watford sign Nigerian goalie Maduka Okoye from Sparta Rotterdam

Watford have reached an agreement to sign Maduka Okoye on a five-and-half year deal beginning January 1, 2022, the club announced.

The Nigerian goalkeeper joins for an undisclosed fee from Sparta Rotterdam where he will return on loan until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

The 22-year-old is a regular starter for Sparta Rotterdam and has featured in each of their 12 games in the Dutch Eredivisie so far this season.

Okoye has also made 13 appearances for Nigeria since debuting in a 1-1 draw with Brazil in 2019.
