Antonio Conte has been announced as the new Tottenham manager.

The former Chelsea boss replaces Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked on Monday. He has signed a contract until the summer of 2023.

Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Conte said: “I am extremely happy to return to coaching, and to do so at a Premier League club that has the ambition to be a protagonist again.

“Tottenham Hotspur has state-of-the-art facilities and one of the best stadiums in the world.

“I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.”

Conte won the Premier League in his first season in charge of Chelsea. Last season, he guided Inter Milan to their first Serie A title in a decade.

Tottehman are ninth on the Premier League standings – 10 points off leaders Chelsea.

Conte’s first game in charge of Spurs will be a home encounter with Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday before a Premier League clash with Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
