The goal was created by Ivan Perisic who himself scored Croatia’s equalizer in the 68th minute. The English team seized control of the match early on in the 5th minute via a Kieran Trippier free kick. It all seemed to be going well for England back then, but they couldn’t hold on, as Croatia rallied from the brink of defeat to book a place in the final on Sunday. Sunday’s final will be Croatia’s first appearance at a World Cup final, 20 years after its first and only semi final appearance at France 1998.
