‘Pressure should be a joy’, Man Utd boss Solskjaer says

Ahead of Manchester United’s game against Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said his team should take advantage of the pressure they currently face.

The Red Devils have been poor this season, with just a win in their last six Premier League games. Both the manager and the players have been heavily criticized in recent weeks, but Solskjaer says United should be able to thrive under scrutiny.

“Of course, we know that with a poor run of form we put ourselves under pressure, that pressure should be a joy,” the Norwegian said. “It should make us a better team, make players perform at the best level and it’s a game to go into and enjoy.

United had performed well on the road in the league, putting together an admirable unbeaten record away from home. But a 4-2 defeat at Leicester last month soiled that record. Solskjaer says his men can still look back on their exploits and draw confidence from them for this weekend’s game away at Watford.

“I don’t know how many games we’ve had away from home. We lost to Leicester, but the unbeaten record before that is something we need to draw confidence from.

“Watford is a very big game, as every game in Premier League is.”

United are down in sixth place – nine points behind leaders Chelsea after 11 rounds of fixtures.
