Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has hailed teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following the Georgian performances for Napoli this season.
Kvaratskhelia, 21, joined Napoli in the summer from Dinamo Batumi, and his performances alongside Osimhen have been the driving force behind Napoli’s Serie A title push this season.
Luciano Spalletti’s side sit 15 points clear at the Serie A summit after 25 games, with no player boasting more than Kvaratskhelia’s nine assists in the Italian top flight this term.
The pair have been dubbed ‘the goal twins,’ and Osimhen recently spoke about his blossoming attacking partnership with Kvaratskhelia, as well as his importance to Napoli this season.
Osimhen said this after winning Italy’s Foreign Press Association award for the best foreign player.
“We had some great leaders leave the club[in the summer] with new players coming and immediately they all integrated themselves into the team.
“Kvaratskhelia is an amazing guy and we got along well together even in preseason. He’s the type of guy that everyone loves, and it’s difficult to have ill feelings towards him. He is a great guy on and off the pitch and we compliment each other”.
Osimhen also believes Kvaratskhelia has the potential to win the Ballon d’Or one day.
He added: “Kvaratskhelia is a great player who still has a long future ahead of him.
“He is a talented player that has the ability to be a Ballon d’Or winner in the nearest future. I say this with much pride and I believe he can bring alot of glory to Napoli.”
Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have scored or assisted on 41 of Napoli’s 58 league goals this season, earning them the moniker “the goal twins.”
