Messi and Mbappe or not, we will be ready – Nagelsmann

As reported by Omasports, the PSG forward Mbappe returned to training on the eve of Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 first leg.

The 24-year-old had initially been ruled out of the match after sustaining an injury against Montpellier at the start of February and was expected to be sidelined for a month.

However, Mbappe alongside Messi – who also missed the game against Monaco at the weekend – have both been included in the PSG squad and Nagelsmann has said his team will be prepared.

“I don’t know if he’s playing from the start. I am not the trainer. In general, I tend to assume that he would play a part but I don’t know.

“I said two weeks ago already that I understand my job and I will prepare the team as though he would play and at the same time like he wouldn’t play.”

Nagelsmann also said that he doesn’t think the star forward will be too affected by the injury if he eventually plays.

He added “I don’t think that will throw him off track and yes with Kylian, I think it’s likely that he will play [if he no longer has problems] or also come in as a sub.

“He hasn’t trained much now. I think he trained a little yesterday and today, he participated in the final training then he would have been in the right condition.

The Bayern Munich is very much aware of what Mbappe and Messi can do to his team and he noted:

“Yes, in the end I think as I said if both can play it means they are so fit that they can hurt any team in the world”
