Leeds United have sacked their manager Javi Gracia and replaced him with former West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce, after a run of bad results that have seen the club stay above relegation on goal difference with four games left to play this season.

Leeds United have failed to win their last five matches and suffered a 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth on Sunday.

Gracia was appointed in February to replace Jesse Marsch and the Spanish lasted just 10 weeks at the club.

Allardyce will be in charge of a Premier League club since failing to keep West Brom Albion in the Premier League at the end of the 2020-21 season.

” I was shocked. I never thought at this stage of the season [this will happen ]. I thought there would be no jobs” the former Bolton Wanderers manager said.

Allardyce’s first assignment is a trip to Etihad to face Manchester City on Saturday as the club bid to avoid relegation with just four games left to play this season.
